Preparation Methods
1. Cashew Paste:
A gluten free, dairy – free. And vegan alternative to heavy cooking cream. It adds a creamy texture and tasty twist to a variety of dishes.
– Soak raw cashew in ¾ cup of water for 2 hours.
-Drain cashews and rinse with water then transfer to a food processor/blender and ground it into a fine powder.
-Slowly add water to the granulated cashews and grind to a fine paste until a smooth and creamy consistency is achieved.
-Use the paste in special stews or make a cashew gravy using the paste.
2. Roasted Cashew.
Cashews can be roasted in an oven preheated to 177 degrees Celsius for about 12 – 15 minutes and tossed with oil and salt for simple variation.
